By bigbossmanks (pittsburg,ks) on Mar 30, 2009
i bought my machine from the weider site and was unsure about it working for me. i am 6'4" and weigh 285. i have had it for a month now and could not be happier with the way this machine works me out. i found no problems in the set up and after a couple of minutes checking out where everything was s...  Very, very pleased

By Danny (Charleston, SC) on Apr 9, 2009
I love it. Like most, I found the directions weren't very clear for putting it together (though there wasn't much to put together) and getting it set. But once I got it figured out, I was good to go. There are still some things to figure out, and the exercise poster lacks a lot of detail, but i... (Read more)

 well built for the $$

By Sandie (Tri-Cities WA) on Jan 19, 2009
Yes, this is a sturdy product, but the only support you will get is from the structure itself. Customer support is not existent. I purchase from a sporting goods store and the unit isn't sold with assembly directions or exercise guide. You can download the owners maunual on line but cannot apparentl... (Read more)

 Great Quality

By Jim (Clinton, New Jersey) on Jan 19, 2009
My buddy bought a body weight system(I won't mention the name...I wrote a reveiw and mentioned the other brand with the texas ranger and they pulled it down becuase I said the name of the brand) and this machine is every bit as good. The foot plate isn't quite as fancy but it's sturdy and the bench ... (Read more)

 tough workout

By Charlie (Flint, MI) on Jan 19, 2009
This thing give a tough workout. at the low settings I get a killer cardio workout and at the highest pitch I can burn out fast. It says you can do like 100 excercises but so far I've just focused on 10 or 15 of them. I've have another weider weight bench that my dad bought about 15 years ago and th... (Read more)

 Most bang for buck.....

By Rob (Chicago, IL) on Apr 15, 2009
Just received it yesterday and exceeded my expectations!! Set up in no time, not much to do and was testing it out in about 20 minutes! Poster is not much help, a brief DVD or even online vids would be helpful but product allows for creativity! I had been considering the T.G. product and even tes... (Read more)

Very nice, light and easy to use. Easy to put together, great workout. No instructions on how to use though, and no instructions on adjusting for height.

I love working out on the total body works

By faithful_0_00 (Burlington,IA) on Nov 30, 2009
I just bought this gym. And I love it. I have been going to the gym for about 15 yrs. And I was just getting burned out going to the gym all the time. So I wanted to try a home gym. But most of the gyms I was looking at are so expensive. I came across the total body works 5000. And seen the price. A... (Read more)

I've had this for 6 years, still going strong

By J in NJ (Westfield, NJ) on Jan 23, 2010
I bought this in 2004, and I still use it. Very well made and I've never had a problem. There are many different exercises and resistance levels so you won't run out of exercises to do. The only minor issue is there aren't a lot of leg exercises to do, but you can make up for that by using free we... (Read more)

 I'm addicted to it

By JoJo124 (Grand Rapids, Mi) on Feb 4, 2010
I'm so glad I purchased the TBW 5000. There were not to many parts to put together, it is a great price. My teenage son really likes it too. It is easy to use.

 THE PERFECT PIECE

By stillexercisingat46 (Texas) on Feb 28, 2010
Could not have gotten a better piece of equipment to suit myself. As an avid lifetime excerciser started out w/full workout weight bench w/pull down bar, leg curls, butterfly bars, and full weight bench. Space and older joints became a problem and went to bike, got bored w/that and moved on to Gaze... (Read more)

 Careful If You're Short

By Ken (Long Island, NY) on Mar 9, 2010
Nothing in the literature mentions this, but if you're on the shorter side, there is no way to adjust the length of the whole machine - - it only opens to one position, which means if you're short and want to do the basic squat/pull cardio exercise, you are out of luck. Even if you can reach the the... (Read more)

 Buyer Beware!!!

By Burnt by Weider (Sacramento, Ca) on May 3, 2010
Product came broken and dented. I called the company who said they would not replace the parts and the warranty was voided because my home gym setup is in my garage. I will never buy another Weider

Great piece of equipment at a reasonable price

By WorkOutn30 (Centreville, VA) on Jun 5, 2010
Finally I have found a full body workout in a quality piece of equipment that is intelligently engineered, easy to assemble, sturdy and easy to use. Based on my research and reviews, Total Body Works 5000 is very comparable to equipment that sells for up to four times its cost. I live in an apartm... (Read more)

 At my age

By Steevo9a/facebook (Seneca,SC) on Feb 7, 2009
Coming up fast at 57 I knew it was time to put away the weight machine. After talking to a few people I decided in the TBW5000.WOW, I get a full body work-out at low impact and I don't strain the ol' ligiments. My friend Frankis helped me start a program and now I feel like a 40yr old again. This is... (Read more)

I've only had this machine for a few days, and I have nothing negative to report about it. Easy to assemble (took me about 15 minutes). Smooth moving, sturdy machine. By Flipper (Wisconsin) on Feb 27, 2009
What a great value! This was very simple to set up and use. It even easily folds flat and slides under my futon for storage. I have teenagers and they love it to. Thank you for making a sturdy high quality product for such an affordable price.

 SO AWESOME!!!

By PLUCKTWACY (CLEVELAND,OH) on Mar 4, 2009
HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT WITH EXTREMELY SIMPLE ASSEMBLY. THE ASSEMBLY TOOK 10 MINUTES. THIS MACHINE IS VERY STURDY NO WOBBLES OR CREAKS FROM THIS MACHINE AT ALL! THE PULLEYS AND BENCH ARE VERY SMOOTH. I AM WELL ABOVE THE 250LB WEIGHT LIMIT (293) SO I WAS SKEPTICAL ABOUT IT HANDLING MY WEIGHT. NOW THAT I... (Read more)

LIVES UP TO THE NAME...WEIDER !!

By WALL-E (SMITHTOWN, NY) on Mar 9, 2009
I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FOR A HOME GYM THAT WOULD GIVE ME A GOOD WORKOUT BUT NOT TAKE UP A WHOLE ROOM. I WAS CHECKING OUT THE TOTAL 'G' BUT THE EXCESSIVE PRICE AND APPARENTLY FLIMSY CONSTRUCTION MADE ME THINK TWICE ABOUT SHELLING OUT THE $$$. THEN I THOUGHT ABOUT THE FIRST NAME IN BODYBUILDING...
